Sir James Birkmyre

Co-Founder & Managing Director

Jamie started his career in advertising at Collett Dickenson Pearce, moving to TBWA where he was the manager behind some of the most awarded advertising campaigns of the 1980s. In 1988 -1991 he was Head of Events and Sponsorship at Wight Company and Orbit International responsible for the Stella Artois Tennis Championship, the Whitbread Trophy Rugby League and Heineken Ice Hockey League, among others. As Managing Director of Birchgrey from 1991-1994, he orchestrated the European Open Golf Championship, leaving in 1994 to become Director of Championship Management of the prestigious European Tour. Here Jamie was the inspiration behind such high-profile Championships as the English, Catalan, Italian and European Opens, the MCB Tour Championship - Seychelles, the British Masters, the World Golf Championship and finally the BWW PGA Championship where Jamie's relationship with rock legends such as Ronnie Wood, Kenney Jones, Mike Rutherford and Sir Rod Stewart embraced the Tour's desire to become an entertainment company with golf as its platform for charitable causes. On Jamie's contribution to this Championship and, indeed, to sport and entertainment, Golf Business News wrote, "Jamie's commitment, enthusiasm and knowledge of every aspect of the event helped it grow into the world-class golf tournament it is today."

Sport, but especially golf, has been Suzanne's obsession from an early age. Brought up in North Wales, she represented her country in the Junior Internationals for two consecutive years. In 1987, she moved to London where she spent three years at CBS Fox, assisting them with video premiers, parties and dealer experiences. But it was to be working alongside Jamie at Orbit International on golf, tennis, ice hockey and football events when she was finally able to make her passion for sport her profession. To expand on her experience, she moved to client management, then back to events working for The European Tour on their Celebrity Pro-Ams, managing Player Lounges, looking after players' families at various Ryder Cup events - at both home and away matches - as well as supporting the Rules Team at other Tour events.
